Just because it’s the beginning of December doesn’t mean that it’s too late to implement any holiday marketing campaigns, it just means that you might have to tailor your larger campaign efforts for more targeted assets.
Concerned about the idea that you might’ve missed out on all the shopping done during November and Black Friday weekend/Cyber Monday? Don’t worry. Majority of shoppers won’t actually finish all of their shopping until December, and a whopping 30% admit they won’t be finished until Christmas Eve (a percentage that also increases to 37% for shoppers under the age of 30; ie, Millennials).
So below are a few of our tips on what to do over the next 4 weeks to help capture the attention of those last-minute shoppers.
Engage with your social media followers even more than before – continuing to engage gives them a reason to come back and re-visit your site and consider your products if they haven’t purchased before

Show Appreciation to customers and followers – consider sending an email to anyone who has purchased from you or has signed up for your newsletter with a special last minute discount. Along with announcing a special discount, send a separate Thank You and holiday greeting email or even postcard thanking them for their business during the season.
Highlight Your Most Popular Items – If you have items that sell regularly or have been more popular than normal, highlight them in a newsletter or on your social media pages. Chances are if it’s popular, there’s more people out there who might want it as well. If an item was so popular that it sold out, make sure to send out a special email announcement as well as social media posts highlighting that it’s back in stock.
Along with highlighting popular items, consider creating a curated gift guide; a collection of items that go well together. You can either send these items out in an email, but a well-made graphic posted to Instagram and Facebook can sometimes create an even bigger splash with demographics that might not already be familiar with your brand.

Another recommendation regarding product offerings, also considering sending emails offer gift ideas that are under a certain dollar amount. Many times, customers might not even know you offer these products, and highlighting the lower price can also make it easier to convince them to purchase something compared to convincing them on a big-ticket item.
Forget Traditional Digital Ads and Get Social – social media ads are highly important if you want to make sure your products or offerings are seen quickly, by a target audience that meets your key demographics, and in a manner that you can control, monitor and even engage with. Make sure your ads consist of popular products, special offerings like free shipping or a discount code…. Something that will draw a consumer in and convert them to a paying customer in a quick manner.
A recommendation for social media ad contents, offer a social media flash sale – provide a coupon code that is only being offered on your social media platforms.
Another social media idea, highlight a different product (refer to it as a gift idea) every day (make sure to include the price) and post on all of your social media pages to create consistency. We love the idea of a Last-Minute Gift Pinterest board featuring all of these items as well.

Plan, Schedule and Relax – Once you get all of your December calendars and graphics created take advantage of Facebook’s and Twitter’s scheduling tools to take extra stress off of making sure your posts are delivered each day on time. Even better? Consider trying out a scheduling tool (many have a 30-day trial) like Hootsuite, Sprout Social or later that will publish your posts for you as well as provide a dashboard to monitor mentions, messages and hashtags.
