With my Facebook feed full of shared recipes and blogger food posts, not to mention my thousands of pins on Pinterest, I would expect that inspiration on what to cook was at our fingertips.

So I was surprised to see the following infographic from The Hartman Group that showed that more than half of consumers are looking for a dinner solution at least once a week.  It’s clear that despite all of the great social media tools out there consumers need help.

The average consumer is making decisions just hours before dinner, often times on the way home from work. This provides clear opportunities for food brands and retailers to create meal inspiration.  Here are a few ideas of how you can connect.

  1. Partner with complimentary brands for a weeknight e-newsletter providing quick meal time solutions.
  2. Co-merchandise mealtime solutions in easy to shop displays that contain all items for a mealtime solutions.
  3. Offer quick product uses and inspiration on your package.
  4. Time your social media content to share meal inspiration between 4:00 & 5:00 pm.
